WE LOVE FOOTBALL. WE LOVE OUR PLANET.

Global United FC is an international, non-profit association that uses soccer as a platform to plan and implement important projects in the areas of climate and environmental protection, social issues and sports development and to hand them over to the local communities and continue to support them. The initiative was launched by Lutz Pfannenstiel in 2009 and founded as a non-profit association in 2011. Prominent personalities such as Fredi Bobic as Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Rainer Hahn as CEO play a key role in the management of the association.

In addition to its global presence, Global United FC launched the GUFC Africa Foundation in Johannesburg in 2018 to strengthen its activities in southern Africa.

Over 400 former soccer legends and some active players have come together under the motto "We love football. We love our planet."to support the initiative. In addition, personalities from the worlds of sport, entertainment and the media have joined forces under this motto.

Global United FC wins German Football Ambassador Honorable Award 2025

What do Dettmar Cramer, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Karl-Heinz Schnellinger, Miroslav Klose, Otto Pfister, Bernd Schuster, Leon Goretzka/Joshua Kimmich, FC Bayern Munich, Franz Beckenbauer and Lothar Matthäus, Tine Theune and Andreas Brehme have in common with Global United FC?

They are all recipients of the German Football Ambassador honorary award from the club of the same name, founded by Roland Bischof in cooperation with the Foreign Office, kicker, Goethe-Institut e.V. and others. A jury of politicians, footballers and media representatives presented Global United FC with the award at the Sport Marke Medien congress in Munich. Our supervisory board member Kristian Baumgärtner and I had the honour of accepting the award on behalf of our wonderful community, and Fredi Bobic contributed a few words of welcome. A big thank you goes to the organisers and guests who provided us with such a welcoming atmosphere.
